Hi, my name is Shermeil Dass, M.D. I am a Board Certified General and Child Psychiatrist. I graduated from a 6-year BS/MD program and went to NEOCOM in Rootstown, Ohio. After medical school, I completed my general psychiatry residency and then fellowship in child psychiatry, from the University Hospitals of Cleveland associated with Case Western Reserve where I served as Chief Resident. After graduation, I moved to Santa Cruz and worked full time at the County of Santa Cruz.

I worked at the County for a decade with the foster care system, juvenile justice system and with the transitional age youth team. I have been in private practice since 2009 and I diagnose and treat Autistic spectrum disorders, anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood disorders and psychotic disorders.

I use pharmaceutical as well as non-pharmaceutical techniques to treat mental illnesses. My mission is to provide the highest level of psychiatric care that is affordable in a non-judgmental environment, and will improve the quality of my patients’ lives as well as their family’s.
